A member of the community, Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce, and SHMA, Betty Rehburg died on April 24th at the age of 98. Betty was married 72 years to the late Don Rehburg. Don, a former president of SHMA, was involved in the first Salmon Bake and Apple Squeeze events and in developing and leading the Chamber of Commerce. When Don was involved, so was Betty. For many years, Betty manned a table at Salmon Bake selling the unique Secret Salmon Sauce that Don developed and bottled, or dishing out the tasty Beef Barbecue at the Fourth of July for the Chamber. Mother of three, she also was an accomplished artist, painting many views of Steilacoom. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2 at New Tacoma Cemetary.
