Why do we exist?
Our mission is to support and promote business in the greater Steilacoom area and to enhance our town's quality of life by participating in civic projects and events. We also proudly serve as the Town of Steilacoom’s official tourism committee.
Advancing the business viewpoint to the public and other interested parties, while fostering, developing, and encouraging business best practices with our members rounds out our list of core activities.
At this point, you may be wondering where you have seen the Chamber in action.
Grand Old 4th of July Celebration (Cancelled 2020 due to Covid-19)
The event we're most well known for takes place on the 4th of July. Each year, the Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce presents the Grand Old 4th of July Celebration in conjunction with the Town of Steilacoom. Among other things, the event involves a:
-
Parade
-
Fun run
-
Street fair
-
Beer garden
-
BBQ beef sandwich booth
Every year, this event ends with a bang — literally — as the Fireworks Presentation Committee treats us all to a spectacular fireworks extravaganza over Puget Sound.
Other events
Our mission to enhance Steilacoom's quality of life doesn't stop in July. We also put on a community-wide garage sale in August and host a tree lighting event in December at Town Hall.
Online Member Directory
We also list your business on the Chamber website which allows all members to market their themselves online. We use current search engine practices to help you be found on the internet. The directory not only supports our members, but it also makes locating quality local businesses convenient for anyone to support the local business community.
